Over the past 5 years, We Race Ahead has been actively involved in unity, reconciliation and anti-racism efforts bringing thousands of residents across Southeastern Wisconsin together. We continue to host community discussions, while partnering with local businesses and organizations to help build cross-cultural competency, diversifying staff and fostering healthy work environments for people of color. A Day of Repentance and Solidarity

The Day of Repentance and Solidarity is an initiative fueled by an alliance of city and suburban churches/organizations to grow a more unified church that is a tangible witness of God’s love through justice and equality. This is done by the acknowledgement of the church’s past and present roles in systematic injustice, repentance, forgiveness and intentional steps of growing diverse relationships across the city and suburbs.

We invite you to our next We Race Ahead Event, where we’ll watch 13th, a documentary on Mass Incarceration in America. We’ll have food and a facilitated discussion following.

Talks
2018 – City of Light, along with award winning speaker on Race and Segregation, Reggie Jackson and the YWCA host a talk on the Impact of Segregation on Poverty and Race Relations in Milwaukee/Wauwatosa. The talk will be followed by facilitated round-table discussions and action-based next steps for unity. The community, local businesses and organizations are welcome to take part in this interactive process to meet others and grow in unity.
